Our Vision

At Rochester Riverside, our vision sits at the heart of who we are as a community. It helps us to see who we are and how we want to live.

Life in All Its Fullness

Our understanding of John 10:10 is that Jesus wants us all to flourish in every area of our lives. At Rochester Riverside, we live this by embracing opportunities, trying new things, and discovering our unique talents and passions. We make the most of our time together, aspiring to be the best we can be and opening as many doors as possible for our future.

Christ as our Cornerstone

In the Christian tradition, Christ is described as the cornerstone—the firm, reliable foundation on which everything is built. We use this image to help children understand the importance of strong values and good choices. Just as builders align their walls with the cornerstone, we encourage pupils to align their actions with principles of compassion, respect, and trust. This reminds us that every member of our school family is valued and supported within a community built on shared foundations.

Our Community - A Bridge from the Past to the Future

Our community is the heartbeat of our vision. We use the symbol of a bridge to represent connection, support, and unity. Bridges bring people together and help us navigate obstacles on our journey. We encourage our community to be “bridge-builders”: supporting one another and connecting through compassion, trust, and respect.

 Our Forever Five

As Riversiders, we live out our vision through five core attributes: our Forever Five. These are woven into our learning, play, and worship every day.

Compassionate: Building an inclusive community by being kind, noticing the feelings of others, and offering a helping hand.

Trustworthy: Being reliable, working independently, and always doing the right thing—even when no one is watching.

Respectful: Treating classmates, teachers, and ourselves with kindness. This includes using polite words and taking great care of our school environment.

Aspiring: Bringing a "can-do" spirit to every challenge. Whether pushing through a tough lesson or going the extra mile with home learning, it’s about striving to be even better.

Thankful: Noticing the good in life! This means showing appreciation for our friends and our planet, approaching each day with a positive attitude.
