Who We Are
The Rochester Riverside Parent Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) is a dedicated group of parents and carers who work in partnership with the school to enhance the educational experience of every child. As a registered charity, our purpose is to strengthen relationships between families, staff and the wider community, while raising funds and providing opportunities that enrich learning across the curriculum. We meet regularly, welcome all volunteers, and aim to build a warm, inclusive school community.
What We Do
Throughout the year, the PTFA organises a wide range of events—from bake sales and raffles to community meet‑ups and whole‑school celebrations. These activities not only raise valuable funds but also create memorable experiences for children and parents alike. We work closely with the senior leadership team to identify areas where additional resources or new opportunities will most benefit pupils. Alongside events, we actively pursue grants and community funding through partners such as the Co‑op, Tesco and Asda, ensuring the school can continue to offer high‑quality enrichment opportunities.
How We Support the School
Our fundraising directly benefits pupils across the school. In recent years, the PTFA has contributed to new sports, garden and kitchen equipment; library books and storage; classroom resources; and whole‑school experiences such as educational workshops and a visit from the gladiator “Steel”. We are committed to ensuring every child can access PTFA activities, offering a Pay‑It‑Forward scheme so that family circumstances never become a barrier to participation. In addition, our grant‑funded projects have helped develop outdoor learning environments including the kitchen garden and wellbeing garden, with further sustainability‑focused projects planned.
