At Rochester Riverside we provide the children with opportunities that engage, enthuse and spark curiosity. The children's interests are important to us and are at the heart of the learning opportunities provided.

Our Riverside vision is behind everything we do as we explore together the fundamental questions of 'Who are we?' and 'How do we live?'

Take at look at our adventures and what we've been learning in Pip class...

Term 2 -

This term in Pip Class was full of excitement and learning as we explored a range of special celebrations and events. The children learned about birthdays, Christmas and Thanksgiving, sharing stories, activities and discussions that helped them understand how different celebrations are enjoyed.

We also explored Remembrance Day and Children in Need, giving the children gentle opportunities to talk about kindness, helping others and remembering important events.

A highlight of the term was the children performing a song at our school Welcome Service. They did amazingly and made us very proud with their confidence and enthusiasm.

To make the term even more memorable, we were thrilled to meet Steel the Gladiator, which was a fun and exciting experience for everyone!

It has been a wonderful term filled with learning, creativity and lots of smiles.

Term 1 -

This term we have been settling in to our new environment. The children have been building relationships with their peers and the adults in the room. As well exploring our indoor provision, the children have had lots of fun playing outside - especially in the sand and water!

Our topic this term has been 'All About Me' and we have had lots of discussions celebrating our similarities and differences. We have also looked at our emotions by reading 'The Colour Monster' by Anna Llenas. The children loved looking at this story and it has enabled us to have lots of conversations about how we are feeling and why.

The children have been working on their independence - from putting on their coats to buttering their toast. We have also been learning to take turns and listen to others by playing lots of games.

I am so proud of how the children have settled and I cannot wait to see how they develop over the rest of the school year.
