Rochester Riverside Primary School

Safeguarding

At Rochester Riverside CoE primary school, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility, and every adult who comes into contact with our pupils and their families has an important role to play.

As a Christian school, we are proud to provide a caring and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued, and respected. We encourage our children to speak openly and ensure they feel confident that their voices will always be heard.

Through our daily routines, curriculum, and partnerships with specialist organisations such as the NSPCC, we help empower our children to understand how to stay safe, both online and offline, and to recognise and report anything that makes them feel uncomfortable.

We encourage all children to talk to a trusted adult if they are worried about something at school, at home, or in the wider community. At Rochester Riverside, we have a dedicated pastoral care space called 'The Cove', where children can speak with our ELSA/DDSL if they need support.
